We are proud to participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP/EBT)
Our Market participates in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and accepts EBT cards on site during market hours. Participants may purchase tokens in $1 and $5 denominations to purchase most market foods; including baked goods, fruits, veggies, meats, fish and poultry and dairy products. Seeds and plant starts, such as herbs and tomato plants, because they are edible, are also eligible purchases.
To use your SNAP benefits please find the Market Manager who will assist you with purchasing tokens. All vendors can assist you with tracking her down!
Please note that vendors cannot exchange cash for unspent tokens or give change with your purchase. Vendors will gladly ensure you receive full value for your tokens by adding additional produce to your purchase, when necessary.
**Continuing for 2024 – Ashe County Farmers Market will continue to offer Double Up Food Bucks for SNAP participants. For every dollar spent up to $20.00, the market will provide the same amount. Ex: If you spend $20, you get an extra $20.00 in double up food tokens. **
